There’s a cool online personality test that’s also a Facebook application. It’s called PersonalDNA and it’s interesting because it assesses quite a few different areas of your personality, but not just by using “either/or” questions. Some of the questions ask you to move an indicator on a gauge or “drain a bucket” in various categories, that kind of thing. The variety in question formats makes the experience more enjoyable, and I guess more accurate. Of course, it’s not perfect, but it’s pretty good.

They do a nice text-based evaluation, but then they go beyond that. Your results can be displayed either in a swatch or a strip, where the color is the personality trait and the size indicates how strong that trait is in you. Here’s what mine look like, so you can get an idea of how they look and work. Just mouse-over any color and it will tell you the trait and level. You can share these in a variety of ways, including in your Facebook profile. And if you really get into it, you can evaluate other people and compare your results with theirs. THAT can get interesting!
