People have been “beatboxing” for a long time now. It’s become mainstream enough that Blake Lewis, the runner-up this year on American Idol, used it a little in some of his performances.
Greg Pattillo has done some recordings of himself doing a more standard beatbox thing while playing his flute. All of these videos are just him, his flute, and a microphone. Pretty cool!
