Looking for some new fonts? Here’s a GREAT site with LOADS of free fonts. The best part is that they have nice big examples of each font, so you know what they look like. The site is FontFreak.com. If you want any of the fonts, just download the appropriate icon on the right side of the font name (either the Windows icon or the Mac icon).

To install fonts, at least in Windows, it’s usually easiest to just download the fonts to your desktop. Then go to Control Panel - Fonts and pick File–Install New Font. Point to your desktop and select all the fonts you’ve downloaded. Once that’s done, you can delete them from your desktop.

Here’s another nice site: The Fell Types - My Revival Fonts. These are more old-school-looking fonts for when you need something to look like it was print in the 16- or 1700’s.

Fontplay is another good one. The presentation is different though. They’ve used pictures and created captions for someone in the picture using different fonts. If you like the font you see, you click the “get this font here” link.

Pretty nice.
