What a weird Monday it is! I normally work evenings on Mondays, but this is Spring Break week at Butler, so we’re not staffing the library Reference Desk and won’t even be open during the evenings. So I came in to work at my usual morning time instead of waiting until after lunch. That was weird enough.

But then, thanks to Daylight Savings Time starting three weeks earlier than it has previously, when I went out to my car to drive to work at about 7:15am, it was darker than it had been at the Winter Solstice. Weird!

And then there was the weather forecast. After a nice Spring-like weekend, where it got into the 60’s, here were the high temps for this week, as predicted by Fox59 Morning News:

Mon: 62 - Tue: 72 - Wed: 70 - Thu: 54 - Fri: 48 - Sat: 40

A touch of Spring, and then back to Winter. Dropping 30 degrees. All in just a few days. Weird!

I just checked the website for our local Fox59 channel and here are the highs as listed on the website (an hour after seeing it as listed above on TV):

Mon: 62 - Tue: 68 - Wed: 66 - Thu: 49 - Fri: 41 - Sat: 45

So anyway, Happy Black Monday! (That’s my name for today, with DST three weeks earlier than normal.)

UPDATE: Apparently their website is slower to update than their news report, because as of this morning (Tuesday), the forecast is higher, not lower, than expected yesterday. At least for the next couple days, and then COLDER than they’d said: Tue:76 - Wed:72 - Thu:53 - Fri:38 - Sat:40… But Weather.com predicts not so hot and not so cold. Weird!
