Tonight was the 3rd- through 5th-grade fall concert/play/thingy. The theme was Indiana. There were quite a few songs and each class put on a short play/skit in between the songs. Blaise was Abe Lincoln’s father in his class skit, called “A Boy Named Abe.” There were a couple other Lincoln things, songs/monologues about basketball, racing, city/town names in Indiana, some Indiana history, and that kind of thing.

All in all, it was a typical elementary school performance, with the most entertaining things being watching the kids when they’re not the focus. The highlight of the evening was probably the monologue delivered by a boy who I’d say belongs in radio. His face showed absolutely no emotion, but his voice was fantastic!

It went a little longer than an hour, but it was manageable overall. :-)
