Yesterday I was driving to work and having my usual tiff about stoopid drivers that go 10-15 mph over the speed limit and change lanes in front of you without using turn signals. This time there was a police car a little ways in front of me. You know what? He was doing the same thing! It’s 35 or 40 mph most of my drive to work, and he was doing about 10 over the whole way. Except for when we drove through a school zone (speed limit 25). Then he was doing 25 over! Because he didn’t really slow down at all.

We wonder why people drive the way they do. When there are no consequences for their actions, why should they change? Especially when the role models do the same thing.

By the way, I stuck with that police car all the way to his destination. You know where he was headed in such a hurry? McDonald’s!
