Well, Alaric and Blaise had their first day at their new school today. For a variety of reasons, we’ve pulled them out of the charter school they were in and put them in St. John Lutheran School. St. John is where we’ve been attending and we’re in the process of transferring our membership from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids to St. John’s. The school has graciously allowed our boys to transfer in partway through the fall semester.

The boys will do well there and are already enjoying school more than they have been this year. They have a couple of kids from their Sunday School classes in their regular school classes, plus they know the building and all, so it’s relatively comfortable. The school has been operating for over 150 years! So they really know their stuff and have got everything “worked out” (as compared to the boy’s previous school, which is only 2 years old). Even most of the teachers have spent over 10 years teaching at St. John.

They don’t have less homework than they used to, but they’re happy and I think we’ve found a good match. When it’s time to find a house next spring, I think we know where in Indy we’ll be looking, since we’ll be at St. John 6 days a week. :-)
