So this morning on my way to work, two of the gas stations I passed had jumped up to $2.99 a gallon. The rest were at the same place they’ve been for days, between $2.55 and $2.69. But TONIGHT, when I LEFT work, I was astounded to see that the one that’s usually the cheapest (was $2.55 this morning) was $3.19! It had jumped 64 cents! That’s just incredible! But not as much as another one that’s usually on the cheap end of the price wars, that tonight was $3.49! Unbelievable!

Make sure you visit GasBuddy.com and find out what the rates are in your area. That site is updated all the time by consumers who post the prices they see. Prices only stay live for 48 hours, so the site is usually current. If you don’t see the gas stations you normally use, maybe you should sign up to post prices yourself and help others that use the same ones you do.

Until the psychological price war is over, we’ll all be relying more on these kinds of websites than ever before.
