Last night I found a blog hosting place that has free software, free hosting, and the best features of any similar program I’ve seen.
It’s called MyBlogSite.
As a means of comparison, here’s a chart that lists some of the features that they and other programs offer (or don’t):
| MyBlogSite | Blogger | LiveJournal | MoveableType | TypePad | |
| Post An Article | Easy to Use WYSIWYG editor | WYSIWYG editor | No WYSIWYG | No WYSIWYG | WYSIWYG editor |
| Categories | Categories & Sub-Categories | No | No WYSIWYG | No WYSIWYG | WYSIWYG editor |
| Photo Posting | Unlimited Photos | Limited photos | Limited photos | Limited photos | Unlimited Photos |
| Photo Albums | Unlimited Photo Albums | No photo album | No photo album | No photo album | Photo album present |
| Predesigned Layouts | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Ablity to create Custom Layouts | Yes | No | Limited | Yes | No |
If were still using Blogger (which I’m not because I moved my blog to my own website and now use WordPress), I’d switch to MyBlogSite in a heartbeat. The categories and extra features and custom layouts make it worthwhile right there. Plus there’s a good sense of community within users of the program, which helps it compare to Xanga, LiveJournal, and those kind of programs.

I don’t suppose there’s an easy way to move blog posts over from Blogger?
